Four hundred years after the Mayflower landed and brought British colonizers to New England, what does the Thanksgiving holiday mean to us? Every year, on the fourth Thursday of November, a turkey is pardoned at the White House, people gather around feasts, and a commercial orgy begins that extends from Black Friday to New Year Day.
